George McRae
George McRae retired from Y-12 in 2008 after almost 41 years of employment in Oak Ridge facilities. His career began after graduating from the University of Florida with a BSChE (5 yr. program) in 1967. He started in the Engineering Division of K-25 with stints in chemical design and in project engineering. This was followed by a transfer to the K-25 Operation Division. There he worked in Chemical Operations and Cascade Operations ending as the K-29 Area Superintendent when K-25 was shut down in 1985. He transferred to Y-12 for the remainder of his career. There he worked in waste operations first as an engineer, then as head of Waste Treatment Engineering, followed by head of Operations for Waste Treatment. The last few years of his career he was the Subcontract Technical Representative for the Waste Treatment Operations subcontract.

George is Chair of the Annual Meeting Committee and is a member of the Nominations Committee and the Other DOE Sites Committee.
