Mike Shelton graduated from MTSU with a BS in Business Management. He started his career at the ORGDP (K-25) in Chemical Operations in 1971 and later at the Centrifuge Plant Demonstration Facility (CPDF) as a General Supervisor.

In 1984 he transferred to the Y-12 Plant in the Waste Management Division. He returned to ORGDP in 1990 in the Waste Management Division as a Department Manager.

He retired in 2007 and later came back as a contractor with Fairfield Service Group until 2012.

Mike served as a member of the Long Term Recovery Committee for the Kingston Steam Plant fly ash spill.
