Joseph T. Kato (Joe) has been retired from the Y-12 National Security Complex since January 2021, where he was the Site Manager of Construction.

He has worked for the Bechtel Group in various positions of Project & Construction Management for a total of 43 years. His Bechtel experience includes both domestic and international assignments and includes a combined 27 years at DOE nuclear facilities (Savannah River Site – 8 years, and Y-12 NSC – 19 years).

He has received a BS in Civil Engineering from Penn State University and an MBA from Augusta University.

He has been active with the Boy Scouts of America, American Society of Civil Engineers, Penn State Alumni Association and a philanthropist for higher education.
