CORRE Board of Directors Meeting And Zoom Online Meeting

• Call to Order by Whitehead

• February Board Meeting Minutes – Approved

• February Treasurer Report – Petrie, Approved; Renewed CD for which Board had previously approved Petrie to negotiate best interest rate. Petrie reported the IRS is having difficulty with our 990N not in the right database; we await the IRS fix to this problem; our tax-exempt status has been reinstated; Petrie will continue to monitor.

• Contractor Contact Team Reports

• CNS - awaiting 1st week in August meeting time; Alight audit found improper funding of stipends and has sent out letters of overpayments, whereby Alight will not send further stipends and allow for timing to catch up to those over paid.

• Golden Svcs LLC – Contract is being continued every 3 months.

• UCOR – Riggs discussed a K-25 Reunion and new Facebook page formed on March 10, 2024, entitled K-25 Retirees and Past Employees, currently a private group with 207 members added in one week and growing; Administrators are Pam Reagan Toon, Kellsie Wells and Brad Parish. The K-25 Reunion is to be held at the K-25 site near History Museum and Fire Department; Address: 652 Enrichment Street, Oak Ridge. For info call 865-804-2723; to attend please reply on the Facebook page. Action: Riggs will call to ask about scheduling UCOR, CORRE, AGRE meeting. Whitehead will keep us posted on volunteers needed to set up CORRE/AGRE table.

• UT-Battelle – May 9 meeting scheduled; discussion of request by local WBIR for UT-Battelle contract.

• Committee (and Task Team) Reports

• Planning – Gibson sent 2-page report out to members.

• Nominations – Wasilko reported no updates, and he will soon survey current Board members of their intent to remain on the Board.

• Communications – see below.

• Website – see below.

• Improving Communications Task Team – There have been 2 meetings with CNSCares, 1 on Zoom and 1 in-person. They will pay for mailings to encourage visits to the CORRE website; discussed CORRE Newsletter to be stored on our website and emphasized that CORRE will treat all health care organizations equally. The CORRE Newsletter will highlight providers throughout the year; Sam will be calling on members to help with the newsletter; each newsletter will feature upcoming events, quality stories on the DOLwhite card and fun topics; the CNSCares Flier will announce our CORRE newsletter; Whitley discussed the largest three of these health care organizations are CWP/PCM, Quality, and CNSCares; McSpadden hopes to have the database with good addresses complete this year.

• Other DOE Sites – Stocks discussed 2-page spreadsheet detailing research on other facilities with similar mission-like attributes to CORRE and contacts; Action: Whitehead will establish a zoom meeting for Stocks and his committee after the next 3 weeks; Stocks highlighted the organizations to communications. Discussion centered on past initiatives with legislators and asking Contractors for cost estimates to be done to determine amounts for retiree increases, 2 percent spouse options, and the need for consistencies in these elements across retirees.

• Governmental Relations – S. Cox has communicated with Congressman Fleischmann who was planning lunch with the DOE Secretary; discussion continued regarding funds to TN.

• Annual Meeting - McRae continues to pursue location.

• Pension Fund Analysis – Whitehead discussed the differing pension funds requests for UCOR, UT-Battelle, and others and relayed most are amortizing losses into out-years.

• Bylaws – Shelton plans a 10 a.m. April 28 zoom meeting with the bylaw committee to address comments in the Donna Cox review.

• Executive (Pension Increase Initiative) – Whitehead has sent presentation deck to remind the legislative staffers of how inflation has impacted retiree pension amounts. Gibson had drafted a letter of same topic from Whitehead to Jay Mullis, Oak Ridge DOE EM Manager. After discussion, Whitehead will send an appropriate version of this letter to Mullis, Moore, deBeauclair and Robbins separately, no copies to other managers. Gibson to draft each letter with content specific to each manager.

• Other Business

• Financial Advisor Needed – Actions: Whitehead will phone D. Cox for a potential candidate; he asked for nominations of anyone to serve on the Board; deadline is July 1 and April marks the beginning of surveying for vacancies. Whitehead will update the Annual Work Plan; Whitley will speak to Grooms for the annual meeting. S. Cox will obtain HR organization charts.

• Authorization of BOD Expenditures/Reimbursements – none needed this month.
