CORRE BOARD MEETING
06/19/19

Attendees: Angelelli, Gibson, Hightower, Honeycutt, Kibbe, Mason, McGrory, McRae, Morrow, Peterson, Randolph, Whitehead, White, Whitley

• Minutes – Approved.

• Treasurer’s Report – Deferred.

• CNS – Whitley
• No recent contact.
• Whitehead to draft our comments on report regarding benefits.
• Hightower – Still need number of retirees by zip code, year.
• Mason – We should ask for meeting; Whitley to make contact.

• Golden – Johnson not present.
• Whitley – Question regarding whether Golden is prime; they have sub running K-25.
• No movement regarding adding spouses to benefits.
• Peterson – Did we get copy of contract?
• Whitley – DOE can leave out important issues in RFP.
• We will have meeting this Friday with DOE (Tarcza), Golden regarding benefits questions.
• Discussion regarding Pantex differences in benefits.
• Mason – We must take on this fight.

• UCOR – Peterson
• Meeting on May 20 with UCOR, AGRE.
• Pension update – 81.45% funded.
• Funding evaluation -- Lost 5.48% in investment as of 12/31/18.
• We received numbers of retirees, zip codes.
• Health care reimbursement – 18% (129 people) have not filed for anything. Letters have been sent out. Number has come down from 30%.
• SR age-based stipend approach has been looked at. We will keep our approach.
• Donut hole has been looked at. Nothing to be done.
• Ben/Val study is currently under way. Preliminary results are expected in June.
• They do not want to present at CORRE annual meeting. Will be there for questions.
• Ted Myers (Hickey’s boss) was at the meeting.

• UT-Battelle -- Emery not present.
• Meeting date sliding.
• No real issues.
• Teresa Nichols (retiree) has email addresses that we do not have and cannot have from her.

• Planning – Gibson
• Meeting last Wednesday regarding open house; meeting minutes sent out.
• Want to watch contract transition regarding retiree benefits.
• We won’t go looking for other primes to bring into CORRE.
• Mason – Move to adopt Gibson’s position in minutes (black above red); McGrory/Peterson second. Approved.
• Gibson attended DOE community meeting.
• Discussion ensued regarding pension plan funding.

• Nominations – Hightower
• Hightower taking over for Sherrod who is ill.
• We have a list of 24 potential board members.
• We want some AGRE people (Peterson to pursue).
• We will be working to get board list by August 14, board approval by August 20/21.
• Need to replace 9 members; Loralee Wilcher leaving as of now.

• Communications – Kibbe
• Looking for media contacts to publicize annual meeting.
• We can get media contacts for 57 cities for $85.
• Hightower – Move that we invest $85 to get media contacts; McRae second.
• It’s time saver for Judy.
• Mason – Maybe we should focus on Knoxville, Oak Ridge, Clinton, Roane County newspapers.
• Whitley – This will get people from outlying counties.
• Discussion ensued regarding radio, etc. The motion to invest $85 for media contacts did not pass.
• Spreadsheet for questions thru website to be forwarded to board periodically.
• Phone call from Susan Perry of Oak Ridge Institute for Continued Learning; favorable comment thanking us.

• Website – Honeycutt
• Will post people interested in becoming members of board.
• Website is very fragile.

• Other sites – McRae
• Tried to contact Idaho National Lab.

• Legislative – Whitley
• Will ask for meeting with Fleishman’s office representative.

• Annual Meeting – Room reserved at New Hope.

• Whitley – We need to contact Burchette.

• Whitehead – JPM applies to UCOR; class action suit legitimate.

• Whitehead – Email distribution.
• List is for contributing members.
• Mason – Move to include all members, contributing or not; Angelelli second.
• Whitley – we need to reach retirees, contributing or not.
• Motion passed.

• Naomi Asher from United Way was to be here.
