Coalition of Oak Ridge Retired Employees (CORRE) Board Meeting
March 19, 2025

Attendees: Angelelli, Chilcoat, Cox, Franco, Gibson, Green, Hightower, Jessen, Kibbe, McRae, McSpadden, Riggs, Shelton, Steward, Wasilko, Whitehead, Whitley

• Call to order – Whitehead

• February Minutes – Riggs, Approved

• February Treasurer Report – Petrie, Approved

• Contractor Contact Team Reports

• CNS – Wasilko reported on the DOE Secretary visit this last week; the CNS Via issues is being worked.

• Simmons and Golden Security – nothing new to report

• UCOR – Riggs gave updates on the Saturday, April 26th K-25 Reunion Committee activities; She reported a continued effort with UCOR and AGRE on the RRA/stipend reimbursement activities; Angelelli reported a link to register for the Reunion is on the Oak Ridge Facebook page; CORRE will have a table/tent; UCOR will have a table/tent; Worker Health Protection/Queens’ College will have a table/tent.

• UT-Battelle –Planning is underway for a Spring meeting, ongoing questions on contract engagement.

• Committee and Task Team Reports

• Planning – Gibson discussed PBGC changes and utilization values. A motion was made to approve the updated Strategic Plan and place it on the Website.

• Nominations – Franco will send emails to current Board members asking them to serve in 2026.

• Communications – McSpadden is testing IDI Core and will get with Petrie to show IDI Core on the books to account for costs, donations and expenses. The Board approved entering into a contract with IDI Core. Sam asked the Board to review the CORRE Brochure and report any changes that are needed to him. He discussed an event to be held March 26th at Bridgewater Place with Clinch River Home Health Care for which CORRE plans to have representatives attend and providing Newsletters, CORRE membership forms and brochures; Whitehead, McSpadden, Franco, and Whitley to attend.

• Website – nothing new to report

• Other DOE Sites – Gibson briefly discussed COLAs, social security and groups not getting social security; he plans to attend the SRS Annual Meeting on the 29th.

• Government Relations – Cox reported she is working to finalize her committee action plan for 2025 and hopes to get it to Committee members the following week for review.

• Annual Meeting – McRae discussed the Annual Meeting request and application submission with no responses to our submission at this time.

• Pension Fund Analysis – Gibson said the Annual Fund Notices will be out next month.

• By-Laws – Shelton sent By-laws to Committee members with comments (membership definitions) due by the 28th.

• Executive Committee – Wasilko continues to work requests and will report news as it becomes available; he mentioned varied instability with DOGE in the federal offices; we continue to wait and work issues.

• Other Business – no expenditures need to be approved; Whitehead asked the Chairs of Committees to please submit action plans.
