CORRE BOARD MEETING
08/21/19

Attendees: Gibson, Hightower, Honeycutt, Mason, McRae, Morrow, Petrie, Peterson, Randolph, Whitehead, White, Angelelli

Guests (Incoming Board Members): Ball, Brashears, Davis; Shannon Gray (IGUA)

• Shannon Gray re Golden/Guard Benefits
• 6th circuit court favorable to unions previously but has reversed its position.
• Golden letter re benefits (Apr 9)
• NSPS offered benefits to surviving spouse and dependents that they didn’t need to offer.
• Golden took issue with this and decided not to offer those benefits.
• Similar to Y-12 issue in 2012.
• Pre-65 retirees have access to medical plan/insurance.
• There is an active benefits grievance that may or may not go to arbitration; needs union vote.
• Last/best/final offer does not include these benefits.

• Treasurer’s Report -- Approved.

• CNS – Looking for meeting time (Mason).
• Draft summary benefits plan by end of year (Randolph)
• ORNL update to be after Jan 1, 2020.
• K-25 recently updated.

• Golden – Discussed during Gray presentation.

• UCOR – Peterson
• Will be at Annual Meeting

• UT-Battelle – Honeycutt
• Aug 12 meeting with Scott McIntyre
• Open and willing to talk
• $92M this year; $102M next year into pension plan.
• Re health plan in 2020: >65 premium will rise.
• 50/50 cost share based on Plan F goes to $708/retiree next year.
• Re surviving spouse inequity: $15M go forward cost – NO.
• Catastrophic coverage: No donut hole.
• Will have table at Annual Meeting.
• No CORRE brochure in retiree package.
• Update of retiree benefits after Jan 2020.
• Can change benefits only during open enrollment for Plan F
• Mailing addresses for retirees: NO.
• Pension fund level is in compliance at 89%.
• 160 NSPS retirees and associated $s put into pension plan.
• 70 from NSPS transferred to ORNL and will have spouse coverage.

• No recent meeting.
• Inquiring into Medicare info meeting.
• Working on verbiage for writing to congressmen.
• Need more CORRE members involved in community meetings for new contracts.
• We have letter draft concerning community day.

• Nominations – Hightower
• Proposed slate sent out.
• 10 positions need to be filled.
• List of candidates presented: Syd Ball, David Brashears, Sandy Davis, Lance Mezga, Courtney Manrod, Mike Shelton, Bonnie Shoemaker, Paul Standifer, Doug Reynolds
• Officers will continue.

• Hightower: Move Board accept proposed slate; Mason second.

• Board THANK YOU to Hightower for stepping in for Sherrod.

• Communications – Kibbe on vacation.
• Honeycutt: Annual Meeting press release to be released on Sept 6 to media.
• Petrie send Annual Meeting info to membership.
• Tables for meeting – Y-12 will have AON there.

• Website – Honeycutt & Byrd
• Current website cannot be updated.
• Have 2 responses for website update

• To rebuild website; to rehost/maintain.
• Aventus -- $3500 to move/rebuild; $100/hr to maintain.
• w3strategies -- $1000 for everything including ongoing support for a year; then $500/yr to maintain.
• Mason -- Move we sign up with W3; Hightower second.
• Honeycutt – Turn it over ASAP; available for Annual Meeting; Terry Byrd is contact

• Whitehead/Petrie sign contract that Honeycutt & Byrd work out.

• Working to set up meeting.
• ~6000 retirees in Burchett’s district.

• Kibbe has tickets.
• Meeting at 2:00; Board members there by 1:00.

• AON, Patriots Home Care, Cold War Patriots, Randolph/Williamson, ORICL, CORRE, ORNL Benefits, ATLC(?), K-25 Worker Health Protection(?), Y-12 Benefits(?), Golden(?).
• Board Meeting Wednesday before Annual Meeting for dry run.
