Coalition of Oak Ridge Retired Employees (CORRE) Board Meeting
October 16, 2024

Attendees: Angelelli, Birk, Burton, Gibson, Hightower, Jessen, Kibbe, McRae, McSpadden, Petrie, Randolph, Riggs, Wasilko; guests: Richard Green and John Steward;(Franco and Chilcoat attending Y-12 Health Fair for CORRE)
1. Call to Order - Whitehead

2. September Board Meeting Minutes – Approved

3. August and September Treasurer Reports – Approved

4. Contractor Team Reports

a. CNS – CNS will move from Alight vendor for retiree health care exchange to Via; Alight balances are frozen until April 2025 and participants keep what they have; stipends are in place; any issues please call Y-12 Benefit Plans – Via is a new program with expected growing pains.

b. Simmons & Golden – Burton requested dates for annual meeting.

c. UCOR – Stephanie Strickland has asked CORRE for help in
getting stipend/medical reimbursements to retirees and has sent communications in to McSpadden to go out in CORRE retiree newsletter; UCOR will have representatives and a table at the CORRE Annual Meeting; K-25 Reunion committee is working to finalize costs estimates with vendors and momentum building for K-25 Reunion April 26, 2025. (mark your calendars)

d. UT-Battelle – nothing new to report

a. Planning - Nothing new to report

b. Nominations – Nothing new to report

c. Communications – McSpadden discussed Stephanie Strickland, UCOR, request for assistance in getting UCORs (formerly Bechtel Jacobs Company BJC) Retiree Health Care Exchange information to K-25 (BJC) retirees; McSpadden will send a mailing via Mail Chimp. He will also send a reminder announcing the Annual CORRE Meeting with a link with the web address as to how to attend the meeting virtually.

d. Other DOE Sites – Gibson discussed the Idaho Retiree organization 501(c)(4) filing with the IRS; Savannah River Sites’ line item versus overhead funding.

e. Governmental Relations – Cox continues talks with Fleischmann’s staff.

f. Annual Meeting – McRae gave updates on the plans for the Annual CORRE Meeting to be held Friday, November 8 at the New Hope Center Auditorium from 10 – noon. Soon he will send out assignments to Board members. McRae reported on the Contractor and health care organizations planning to attend. A dry run (including a Webex dry run) will be held Tuesday, October 22, at 10:00AM in the New Hope Auditorium.

g. Pension Fund Analysis – Gibson reported new numbers for Social Security increases and Federal Employee pension payment increases and said the 5500 reports from each Contractor should be coming in soon.

h. By-Laws – Riggs will download and try to test Dropbox.

i. Other Business – No reimbursements are needed at this time. The Simmons Golden meeting with CORRE will be scheduled soon. Whitehead reviewed the Annual Meeting Agenda and Power Point Presentation.
