Coalition of Oak Ridge Retired Employees (CORRE) Board Meeting
May 21, 2025

Call to order 10:02 – Whitehead
April 16 Minutes – Riggs, Approved
April Treasurer Report – Petrie, Approved
Contractor Contact Team Reports
• CNS – Nothing new to report; discussion on requalification for stipends by VIA
• Simmons/Golden – nothing new to report; discussion on some missing info to check in with Michelle
• UCOR – Riggs reported K-25 Reunion closeout meeting; discussion on where management of pension funds goes when UCOR contract expires in 2032
• UT – Battelle – Hightower announces contractor team meeting and on-line Zoom meeting on May 29 at 12 noon; agenda has been forwarded.
Committee and Task Team Reports
• Planning – Gibson reported on website information.
• Nominations – Franco requested names of potential Board members.
• Communications – McSpadden reported on participation in the second annual K-25 Reunion and the updated database; received a lot of participant info at the attended Bridgewater event; he does not recommend a second-run with IDI Core and Byrd can send up to 3,000 emails; McSpadden also reported CORRE has an open invitation to discuss CORRE to the Senior Center participants and suggests a night when something is planned to reach as many people as possible; he is drafting for CORRE Board Members some humorous tidbits to be added to the CORRE Newsletter as well as information on DB and DC Plans and medical and prescription basics.
• Website – Birk has updated plans and completed review of submissions to the website; she requests that we send her emails on any website issues.
• Other DOE Sites – Jessen gave an update on the Beck/Wasilko initiative.
• Government Relations – Cox spoke of her contacts and the communication difficulties in Washington at this time.
• Annual Meeting – McRae reported the $500 fee for the New Hope Center was waived for the November 7, 2025, Annual Meeting; he is working to invite vendors and arrange for the audio/visual components of the meeting. Cox will invite congressional staffers to attend.
• Pension Fund Analysis -- Gibson reported the Summary Annual Reports are out and his efforts to analyze them.
• By-Laws – Shelton is looking at smoothing membership and the benefit to paying $20 membership fee; he is working on an Action Plan.
• Executive (Pension increase initiative) – Wasilko reported another meeting with Beck, his promotion, and a potential upcoming meeting with Fleischmann.
Other Business
• Monthly BOD Expenditures – nothing new to report; Petrie received a thank you for the donation to the K-25 Reunion from the American Museum of Science and Energy
• Annual Lump Sum Pension Payments – ORNL continues to have an open plan.
• 2025 CORRE Board Annual Work Plan – completed and turned in on time
• Independent Audit Review – nothing new to report.
